1. Overview

Collibra Studio maintains a history of changes made to all files open in the workbench. If you need to revert a file to a previous version, or you just wish to find a line of code that you deleted, you can look up the local history of the file.

Per default, the studio keeps a history for 7 days with a maximum of 50 entries per file and a maximum size of 1 MB. If you want to change these options, go to Window > Preferences in the Main Menu on Windows or Collibra Studio > Preferences on a Mac ( , ). Subsequently navigate to General > Workspace > Local History. This page will give you the opportunity to change the options mentioned above.

A History View is also available to quickly navigate through a file's history. More information on the History View is available at: History View.

3. Compare

It is possible to compare the current version of the file with a version saved in its history. To do this, right click on the file and choose Compare With in the context menu, followed by Local History...

For more information about comparing two files with each other, we refer you to this article: Comparing

4. Replace

Another use of the local history is to reverse a file to a specific time and date by replacing it with a file in its history. For this, right click on the file you want to replace. Select Replace With in the context menu followed by Local History...

A new dialog will appear that will compare both files as a last overview before the replacement takes place. Click on Replace to finalize the replacement.
