1. Searching

To search the source files for specific strings you can use the built-in search functionality. To start a search, click on the search button in the Main Toolbar, or go to Search... or  File... in the Search menu. There is also a shortcut available, which is H on both Windows and Mac. Once you executed one of the actions above, the search dialog will pop up:

  1. The combo box for the containing text field is where you have to fill in the string to search for. It also contains a list of recently performed searches to select from.
  2. The Case sensitive check box can be selected or deselected depending on whether or not a case sensitive or insensitive search is to be performed. You an also select the Regular expression check box to enable more powerful searching capabilities.
  3. The kinds of files to include in the search can be specified in the File name patterns field. Click Choose... to open the Select Types Dialog. This dialog provides a quick way to select from a list of registered extensions.
  4. In the Scope field, specify the files and folders to include in the search. The choices are: the entire workspace, the currently selected resources in the Workbench, or a Working Set which is a named, customized group of files and folders.

Once you clicked on Search, the dialog will disappear, the Studio will start searching and show all found matches in the Search View.

2. Preferences

Preferences for the search can be altered by going to Window > Preferences on Windows or Collibra Studio > Prefences on a Mac ( , ). Subsequently navigate to General > Search to find yourself the following self-explanatory options:
