The Visual Editor tab of the Pattern Editor provides an easy-to-use graphical visualisation of the lexons in the pattern.

It enables the user to browse the lexons from the pattern in a familiar tree-like view. The Norm Tree starts with a root Term located at the left of the view. The root of the tree can easily be changed to another term, to accommodate looking at the pattern from a different perspective.


On the top of the Visual Editor is a tool bar which features some actions that are specific to the Visual Editor. The following table lists the available actions with their corresponding icon and description:

 Add Fact
A dialog window will pop up where a new fact (Lexon) can be typed in. The user must enter the fact in the following format: Term role / corole Term.. Each Term must start with a capital letter. The last word of a term's name must start with a capital as well.

A dialog window will pop up where a new term can be defined and added to the current pattern.Add a Term
 Add Relation
A dialog window will pop up where a new relation can be specified between two terms with a role and corole.
Add a Relation
 Set as Root Term
This action is only active when a Term is selected. The action will make the selected term the root of the Norm Tree and expand the Norm Tree one level.
 Fully Expand Term
This action is only active when a Term is selected. The action will fully expand the Norm Tree starting from the selected term.

 Zoom In
Zoom in on the pattern.


Zoom Out
Zoom out of the pattern.
