There are two ways to add a new term to your pattern:

1. Using the 'Visual Editor'
2. Using the 'Outline'
   

1. Visual Editor

At the top of the Visual Editor you will find an icon toolbar which contains the Add Term icon (). When you click on this icon, a new dialog will appear.

Fill in a name for the new term and press the ENTER-key. Note that the dialog box also provides the option to introduce the term in a context different from the pattern's default.

Another option is to right click in the Visual Editor and select New Term in the context menu which will be followed by the same dialog.

2. Outline View

Go to the Outline View.

When you navigated to the Outline View, click on the Add Term icon (). A new dialog will appear.

Fill in a name for the new term and press the ENTER-key.
